2008 British Pike Championships 2008 Pike Final confirmed for 8th November at Whittlesey Angling Association’s water near Peterborough.

We are delighted that Fox International will once again support the Pike Final as the Championships' principal sponsor. Fox will be offering great prizes to include hundreds of pounds worth of tackle vouchers for the overall and section winners, along with Fox Predator tackle and clothing. In 2007, Fox consultant and angling celebrity Mick Brown presented the prizes at the final. The 2007 final was double pegged for the first time in the history of the competition and this made for a much more competitive match than in previous years. This will continue in 2008.

Key Facts:

• The British Pike Championships has been up and running for over 30 years

• The competition generates around £20,000 each year for the ACA fighting fund.

• Qualifier matches are run by volunteer match organisers and are normally held during the British pike season (historically September through until March)

• The top 10% by weight from each qualifier match qualify to fish in the final.

• 2008 Pike Final will take place at Whittlesey AA Water, Cambridgeshire on Saturday 8th November 2008. Spectators are welcome on the day.

• Running qualifier matches is an ideal way to increase day ticket sales for your club, with the added advantage of raising funds for the ACA. Spaces are available to run qualifier matches for 2008/9 season.
